Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of training, work discipline, and compensation on employee performance of Generation Z in Surabaya in service and manufacturing companies. This study uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design and primary data obtained through an online questionnaire distributed to Generation Z employees using purposive sampling. Data analysis uses Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results show that training, work discipline, and compensation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. Compensation has the most dominant effect compared to training and work discipline. Training improves knowledge, skills, and employee ability in completing work, while work discipline reflects compliance with rules and time accuracy that affects productivity. Compensation that is fair and appropriate increases work motivation as well as quality and quantity of performance. Therefore, training, work discipline, and compensation are important factors in improving employee performance of Generation Z in Surabaya.
