Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of Demographic Factors (income and age), saving motives and sharia financial literacy. The number of respondents in this study are 163 respondents in Gresik, Surabaya and Sidoarjo which have criteria such as have total family income in every month minimum Rp 4,000,000 and who have purchased Islamic life insurance and being a decision maker to buy Islamic life insurance. Respondents were selected by purposive sampling and Snowball Sampling. The technique to analyze the data use is Partial Least Square Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) by using the PLS 6.0 program. The results of this study explain that income and saving motives have a significant positive influence on demand for sharia insurance, while sharia financial literacy and demographic factors (age) has a non-significant positive influence on demand for sharia insurance.
