Abstract
Firm value is an investor’s perception of the level of success of the firm that is closely related to the price of its shares. Firm value reflects the prosperity of investors. The high price of shares in the capital market reflects a high firm value. The increasing value of the firm indicates the company’s growth in the future. Stocks are in the capital market so they are related to politics. This research aims to determine the effect of political connections on firm value. Firm value is measured by using PBV, PER, and Tobins’Q. The research method used multiple linear regression with data form of financial statements on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2014-2017. The results of this research showed that political connections did not have significant effect on firm value as measured by PBV, PER, and Tobins’Q, but politically connected firm had higher PBV and PER values compared to firm that were not politically connected. Keyword: political connections, firm value.
