Abstract
This study aimed to examine the effect of leverage on profitability industry property and industry otomotif listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in the periode 2009 – 2014. Leverage in this study are proxied by Degree of Operating Leverage (DOL), Degree of Financial Leverage (DFL), Debt Ratio (DR), and Time Interest Earned Ratio (TIER). Profitability in this study are proxied by Return on Equity (ROE) and Earning per Share (EPS). This study uses secondary data, the data used in this study is the annual financial statements have been audited in 2008 – 2014 to calculate DOL and DFL, while for calculate DR, TIER, ROE, and EPS data used 2009 – 2014. This study used multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that DOL have negative not significant effect on ROE. DFL and TIER have positive not significant effect on ROE. DR have positive significant effect on ROE. The results also show that DOL and TIER have positive not significant on EPS. DFL and DR have positive significant on EPS.
