Abstract
This research aim to find out the difference in perception among college students majoring accounting about factors that affect them on the selection of a professional career based on gender. The population of this research was a high school freshman economics STIE Perbanas Surabaya. While the sample of this research are undergraduate student accounting had been completed we based on research subjects. Using a purposive sampling technique of sampling. Independent variable this research is the perception of male and female students.While research is dependent variable financial award , professional training , professional recognition , social values, working environment , consideration and personalitas labor market. Data analysis technique using test non-parametrik mann-whitney test and the result of the research indicated that there is no significant difference or equality between students accounting of the male sex and daughters of factors financial award / salary professional training professional recognition social values workplace, consideration labor market, and factors personalitas. Keywords : Perception, career selection process, gender.
