Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of financial knowledge and peers on millennial generation saving behavior in East Java with locus of control as a mediating variable. Savings behavior has a positive impact on life. Millennial generation have characteristics that tend to act consumptively. So that saving behavior is used as an alternative to meet the needs of the future or today. The sample in this study consisted of 313 millennial generation respondents in East Java. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The statistical test tool used is WarpPLS. The results of the study show that financial knowledge has a significant negative effect on saving behavior, peers have a significant negative effect on saving behavior, and external locus of control mediates the effect of financial knowledge on saving behavior.
