Abstract
This study aimed to examine the influence of corporate governance on firm performance . Based on the index developed using certain criteria by the Indonesian Institute for Corporate Governance ( IICG ) , conducted tests on the company 's performance against 52 companies that the research samples . This research was conducted using purposive sampling method to non - financial companies who participated in the Corporate Governance Perception Index ( CGPI ) , listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and analyzed using regression analysis . The results showed that the CGPI variables used as a measure of corporate governance has a significant influence on Return On Equity ( ROE ) as a measure of corporate performance . These results indicate that a significantly higher CGPI provide a greater return on equity of the company . The test results variable size and composition of the assets of the company does not have a significant effect on the performance of the company . So these results suggest that only CGPI variables that significantly influence the performance of the company .
