Abstract
Chinese is one of all ethnics in Indonesia with less population. Compared to the Javanese, Chinese give bigger contribution for the economy in Indonesia, even though Chinese is minorities in Indonesia. It is proven through amount of entrepreneurs in Indonesia that dominated by Chinese people. This research aim to know how the financial management of families of Chinese entrepreneurs in Sidoarjo and Surabaya. This research is qualitative research with ethnographic approach. Data collection is resulted by deep interview, observation and documentation. Focus of this research is planning, organizing, leading, controlling financial of Chinese entrepreneur families. The result of this research based on three informants are family financial budgeting that should be done every month. Savings and investment budgeting is first priority with range around 5%-20%. Head of family (father or husband) acts as coordinator, mother or wife acts as financial book holder and child acts as excecutor of parents’ direction. Controlling of financial Chinese entrepreneur family is worked by comparing between income and outcome during the period. In addition, family of ethnic Chinese entrepreneur always and should provide emergency fund every period. Character of emergency fund is same as alternative savings.
