Abstract
This study aims to analyze whether the corporate governance structure affects firm performance in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Measurements of the structure of corporate governance indicators used in this study are indicated by institutional ownership shareholdings by other institutional, managerial ownership is demonstrated by stock ownership by management, company size indicated by the natural log of sales, and independent board is proxied by the number of commissioners.While the company's performance measured by return on equity. This study is a quantitative model using regression analysis to determine the direction and effect relationship dependent and independent variables. Multiple regression analysis performed on timeseries data for the period 2008 – 2010 in 40 manufacturing companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI). Thus, the total object of the study was 120.The results showed that the independent variable is the structure of corporate governance as measured by institutional ownership, managerial ownership, firm size, and an independent board and simultaneously a significant effect on the dependent variable is an indicator of corporate performance measurement using return on equity.
