Abstract
In this area, the manufacturing companies in Indonesia still feeling the economic pressure caused by the global financial crisis in 2008. Weakening commudity prices on export of Indonesia, the fall in demand of exports in foreign markets, up to the weakening of rupiah resulted in some firms manufacturing experienced a financial cciris that led to bankcruptcy. Decision management is indispensable in order to improve the company’s financial condition, and also analyze the company’s financial statement. The purpose of this study was to examine the factors that is supposed to influence the financial distress, such as institutional ownership, board of commisioners, total asset turnover, and the debt ratio. The population of this research is manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange 2013-2015 period. The sampling using purposive sampling method, in order to obtain 186 sample companies. The criteria for determining the financial distress by using the interest coverage ratio. The analysis technique used id logistic regression analysis. The result show that institutional ownership, board of commisioners, and total asset turnover negatively affect financial distres, while debt ratio positively affects financial distress.
