Abstract
Cash is the most of liquid asset and it can be used for operational needs of company. The development of competition between firms make the company should have good cash management to reduce waste of expense can disturb an effectiveness and company’s growth. In Indonesia, there are still many companies do not implement a good cash management, so that caused liquidity problem in the company. Many things can be related to ineffective and optimal cash management, one of the factor is the practice of corporate governance. This research aims to determine the significant of the corporate governance mechanism correlated with managerial ownership, institusional ownership, board size, and board independences toward cash holdings. Sample collection method in this research use purposive sampling method with a secondary data from website of Indonesian Stock Exchange (ISE). This research use sample of property and real estate sector wtih final sample are 67 companies. This research use Multiple Regression Analysis for data analysis technique. The results of this research found that only institusional ownership and board independences which significantly affect to cash holdings.
