Abstract
This research is a comparative study that examine differences in financial performance four-stars and five-stars hotels listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange within included in the quantitative research. The purpose of this research was determine whether there are differences in the financial performance of four-stars and five-stars hotels since 2010 till 2013. The variable in this research is independent variables, it mean the financial performance that used analysis at liquidity ratio, leverage ratio, profitability ratio, and the activity ratio. The data used in this research is secondary data taken from the annual financial statements has published in the Indonesian Stock Exchange since 2010 – 2013. Samples were as many as 16 companies with a total of 64 data. This hypothesis has been proposed and tested using an independent sample T-test and Mann-Whitney U-test. The results of this research indicate there is difference of financial performance according to Quick Ratio, Net Profit Margin, Return on Assets, Return on Equity, and Inventory Turnover. While the ratio of Current Ratio, Cash Ratio, Debt to Total Assets Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, Gross Profit Margin, Fixed Assets Turnover, and Total Assets Turnover there are no differences in financial performance of the four-stars and five-stars hotels. The results as a whole there is a difference of financial performance that used analysis at Quick Ratio, Net Profit Margin, Return on Assets, Return on Equity, and Inventory Turnover at the five-stars hotel is better than a four-stars hotel.
