Abstract
The investment decision is a person's decision to allocate a certain amount of funds into the selected type of investment in order to gain profits in the future. Lifestyle affect individual investment decisions. This study aims to examine the effect of financial literacy, lifestyle, and investment experience on investment decisions among people in the city of Surabaya. The number of respondents in this study was 142, with the criteria of having an investment in the capital market (stocks, mutual funds, bonds) and/or bank accounts (deposits) with a minimum income of IDR 4,000,000 per month and being domiciled in the city of Surabaya. The sampling technique uses non-probability, namely purposive sampling. The analysis technique used in this study is SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square) using the Smart PLS 3.0 program. The results of this study prove that lifestyle has a significant positive effect on investment decisions, while financial literacy and investment experience have no significant effect.
