Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of good corporate governance and financing risk on the profitability of sharia commercial banks.The sample consists of 11 sharia commercial banks during a 5 year observation period. This sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The analysis used is multiple linear regression with SPSS tool. The source of data in this study was obtained from annual report published by Islamic commercial banks. This research is a type of research using a quantitative approach. The data used is secondary data by taking the source of the annual reports of Islamic commercial banks during 2017 – 2021. The variables in this study consist of the dependent variable, namely profitability(which is proxied by Return on Assets) and the independent variable, namely good corporate governance(proxied by board of commissioners, the boar of directors, audit committee), Financing risk(proxied by Non Perfoming Financing. The results show that the board of commissioners, the board of directors, the audit committee partially have a positive and insignificant effect on profitability(ROA). And non perfoming financing has a significant negative effect on profitability(ROA).
