Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the number of dependents, financial literacy, and company competence on insurance demand with the tendency to buy as a mediating variable. The number of respondents from this study were 242 respondents who had a minimum age criteria of 24 years and lived in Gresik, Bangkalan, Mojokerto, Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Lamongan. The technique for analyzing data uses Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) using the WarpPLS 6.0 program. The results of this study explain that the number of dependents has a significant positive effect on insurance demand, financial literacy has a significant positive effect on insurance demand, company competency does not have a significant positive effect on insurance demand and the tendency of a non-significant positive effect on insurance demand.
