Abstract
The Purpose of this study is to determine the influence of competence and overconfidence of individual investor on the forex trading behaviour. This research also using demographics factor as control variable such as gender, age, and income. This study uses a sample of 84 questionnaire which spread out through 15 future corporations in Surabaya and employs Multiple Regression Analysis to test the hypotheses. The results reveal that the factors competence significant negative effect on forex trading behaviour and overconfidence reveal positive results are not significant on forex trading behaviour. And if viewed from the demographics factors as control variables in this study, showed results that among the factors gender, age, and income, Income factor only investors who have a positive effect was not significant and have smallest percentage of significant levels than gender and age factor. Investor who perceive them themselves to be more competence and overconfidence will act on their beliefs, leading to higher trading frequency.
