Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of work engagement in mediating the relationship between servant leadership and adaptive performance on Generation Z employees in East Java. This study uses a quantitative approach with a crosssectional design and primary data obtained through an online questionnaire distributed to Generation Z employees in East Java using purposive sampling. Data analysis uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results show that servant leadership has a positive and significant effect on work engagement and adaptive performance, and work engagement has a positive and significant effect on adaptive performance. In addition, work engagement mediates the relationship between servant leadership and adaptive performance, indicating that leadership that focuses on employee development, support, and empowerment is able to increase employee work engagement and adaptive performance in a dynamic work environment
