Abstract

This research aims to inspects the relationship between ethical leadership and employee organizational citizenship behaviour, specifically the mechanisms through which ethical leadership impacts employee organizational citizenship behaviour and the mediating role of employee engagement and work meaningfulness on PT. Bank X Surabaya. The study employed a quantitative research method with a sample of 162 employees working on PT. Bank X Surabaya. Data were collected through online questionnaires. The statistical analyses were conducted using Partial Least Square through the SmartPLS 3. The empirical findings indicate that ethical leadership have a positive and not significant effect on employee organizational citizenship behaviour. Ethical leadership have a positive and significant effect on employee engagement and work meaningfulness. Employee engagement and work meaningfulness have a positive and significant effect on employee organizational citizenship behaviour. The result also showed that employee engagement and work meaningfulness fully mediate the relationship between ethical leadership and employee organizational citizenship behaviour. The new conceptual frame work which explain comprehensively for enhancing organizational citizenship behaviour from ethical leadership perspective Employee engagement and work meaningfulness. The Practitioner/Policy implication is how to improve and develop ethical leadership is very important for contributing organizational citizenship behaviour. The Research limitation is the scope of research only involve employees in bank X.
