Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability (Return on Assets / ROA), liquidity (Current Ratio / CR), solvency (Debt to Equity Ratio / DER), and activity (Total Assets Turnover / TATO) on stock returns. The object of this research is the basic and chemical industrial manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2021. The sample used is 35 manufacturing companies in the basic and chemical industry sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2017-2021 period using the purposive sampling method. The data analysis method used is descriptive test, the hypothesis test used is multiple linear regression test with a significance level of 5%, simultaneous test and partial test. The results of this study indicate that it simultaneously has a significant effect on stock returns. Partially, profitability has a significant positive effect on stock returns, and solvency has a significant positive effect on stock returns, while liquidity and activity have no significant effect on stock returns.
