Abstract

Financial institutions, especially the banking sector, cannot be separated from the problem of bad loans or non-performing loans. There are various kinds of non-performing credit factors and how to handle them, one of which is by applying the precautionary principle or the 5C principle. help overcome the risk of non-performing loans at BRI Branch Ende Unit Nusantara. This research uses descriptive qualitative, using data, observation methods (observation), interviews and documentation. Ende Unit Nusantara Branch. The application of the 5C principles can be ensured both in terms of granting credit decisions. To provide BRI credit, the Ende Unit Nusantara Branch first ensures whether the prospective debtor has complied with the 5C principles consisting of: Character, Capacity, Capital, Collateral and Condition. The bank BRI Ende Unit Nusantara Branch assesses non-performing loans by looking at the conditions in which debtors, both individuals and business entities, are unable to pay their installments or obligations to the bank.
