Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Good Corporate Governance (independent commissioners, board of commissioners, audit committees, institutional ownership, managerial ownership) and leverage on the profitability of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2015-2019 period. This study uses a quantitative approach. The data collection technique used in this study is the documentation method, namely by collecting data from complete financial statements that have been published by the company through the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study uses purposive sampling method in determining the sample with 33 samples of companies. The analysis technique was carried out using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of the SPSS 16 for Windows program. The results showed that simultaneously independent commissioners (KOMIN), board of commissioners (DK), audit committee (KA), institutional ownership (KINS), managerial ownership (KM), and leverage (DAR) had a significant effect on profitability (Return on Assets) in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Partially, the audit committee has a significant positive effect on profitability. Leverage partially has a significant negative effect on profitability in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
