Abstract
CAR is one of the indicators that used to measure bank capital adequacy. Capital for banks is used to absorb losses originating from banking activities. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the independent variables LDR, IPR, NPL, APB, IRR, PDN, BOPO, FBIR, and ROE both simultaneously and partially have a significant effect on CAR and which variable is the most dominant effect on CAR. This study used secondary data of publication financial statements from the first quarter of 2014 to the second quarter of 2019 at the Conventional State-Owned Bank with the sample consists of PT. Bank Mandiri, Tbk; PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Tbk; PT. Bank Negara Indonesia, Tbk; and PT. Bank Tabungan Negara, Tbk. The data were processed using SPSS 26 with F and t test. The results revealed that LDR, IPR, NPL, APB, IRR, PDN, BOPO, FBIR, and ROE simultaneously have significant effects on CAR. NPL and PDN partially have significant positive effect on CAR. LDR, APB, BOPO, and ROE partially have significant negative effect on CAR. The most dominant variable is APB with the contribution of 29.70 percent.
