Abstract
This study aims to empirically examine the effect of institutional ownership, profitability, and firm size on debt policy. This study uses the independent variables of institutional ownership, profitability (ROA), and company size. The dependent variable is debt policy (DER). The sample of this research is food and beverage companies that go public. The sample is conducted using purposive sampling method. Data collection is done by taking data from www.idx.co.id and www.idn.financials.com. Statistical methods use multiple linear regression analysis, with the hypothesis testing a t statistical test. The results of this study indicate that institutional ownership and profitability have a significant positive effect on debt policy. Firm size does not have a significant negative effect on debt policy. Keywords: Institutional Ownership, profitability (return on asset / ROA), company size, and debt policy (debt equity ratio / DER)
