Abstract
Capital is a financial asset that is the owner’s share of the assets of a business. All businesses must have capital in order to purchase assets and maintain their operation. Business capital comes in two main forms: debt and equity. Debt refers to loans and other types of credit that must be repaid in the future, usually with interest. Equity, on the other hand, generally does not involve a direct obligation to repay the funds. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of size, growth opportunity, business risk and assets structure on capital structure. The method of collecting samples in this study is a census sampling method with secondary data taken through the website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study uses a sample of consumer goods industries, with a final sample of 114 companies. The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. The results of this study describe that size and growth opportunity affect the capital structure. Meanwhile, business risk and assets structure do not affect the capital structure.
