Abstract
The use of paper is increasing, it will certainly have an impact on raw materials for its production. One of the main raw materials of paper production is wood. Paper production raw materials must be kept in order for paper production to run properly. However, nowadays to get the raw material is very difficult because wood from the forest products is also increasingly limited due to the number of illegal logging, without seeing the function on the wood later. In this case, the company or the paper industry, its production will decrease so it will be difficult to earn profit. If the company does not earn substantial profits, it will be difficult to roll back its production activity. Companies will think how to get additional capital, in order to produce as much as possible. That way, companies can use external loans. This study aims to examine debt policy and profitability. This research was conducted at manufacturing companies in pulp and paper sub sector. Data obtained from several companies are then analyzed by descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that the extent to which the company can pay the debt by looking at the capital of the company owner. The results of this study also shows the level of profitability owned by some companies, caused by the amount of owner's capital, sales, and assets in the company so that will generate profits that have increased and decreased.
