Abstract
Financial distress is a condition, in which financial companies are in an unhealthy state, but not facing the bankruptcy. Therefore, it is important for companies to identify financial distress beforehand as an evaluation and early warning. This study aims to determine the effect of institutional ownership, board of directors, leverage and operating cash flow on financial distress. This research was conducted on finance sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange at the period of 2015-2018. The number of samples used in this study were 17 companies with saturation sampling method. The data analysis technique used is logistic regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that leverage variables have a positive effect on financial distress, while the institutional ownership, board of directors, and operating cash flow variable does not affect of the financial distress condition.
