Abstract
The financial statements provide information regarding financial position, financial performance and changes in a company's financial position. Financial reports also benefit a large number of users in decision making. This study aims to determine the financial performance of PT. PLN (Persero) South Surabaya Area, by analyzing financial statements using solvency ratios and profitability ratios. The method used in research is descriptive method, that is data collection method and process data according to information obtained in PT. PLN (Persero) Area South Surabaya. The data obtained in this data collection is the financial statements and income statement in 2014 until 2016, organizational structure, and information about the company. The results showed that the financial performance at PT. PLN (Persero) South Surabaya Area in terms of solvency ratios and profitability ratios is quite good. The implications of this research can be useful for the management to find out the financial condition of the company, as well as to find out the solution to improve the company's financial performance.
