Abstract
Financial freedom is the goal that everyone need. It can be reached if people have a good financial management behavior, especially for their family. People with high income may have more opportunities to do a responsibility financial management behavior. But, if high income doesn’t managed wisely, it can caused a serious finance problem, such as people have a big debt. There are many things that can affect the financial management behavior, such as income, locus of control, etc. The aim of this research is to examine the impact of income and locus of control toward household financial management behavior. This research used survey method by distributing the questionnaires to 174 respondents (financial manager in families) who live in Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Mojokerto, or Gresik. Sampling by purposive sampling based on the family who has total income more than Rp 4.000.000 in a month. Using Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) in SPSS, the result shows that both income and locus of control significantly impact household financial management behavior.
