Abstract
This research entitled Effect of Financial Knowledge and Attitude towards Money on Debt Management Behavior with Income Rate as Moderator Variable. Debt behavior has been an option for an individual to overcome fulfillment problem. The appropriate background of taking a debt should be due to urgent condition rather than desire-fulfilling based or merely a wish. Furthermore, taking a debt should not be undertaken due to vague reasons such as extravagant behavior, adhered to trend and lifestyle. The research employs purposive sampling with 285 Surabaya citizen respondents. The characteristics of respondents such as live in Surabaya, obtain income and own debt. The analysis using IBM SPSS Statistics 20 as analysis instrument. Research result shows that financial knowledge affects significantly to debt management behavior without moderator variable. However, attitude towards money result is insignificant. Key words :Debt Management Behavior, Financial Knowledge, Attitude Towards Money, and Income
