Abstract

This research aim to analyze the factors that affect the profitability of Islamic banking in Southeast Asia. Dependent variable in this research is profitability measured by ROA and Independent variables are financial ratios include FDR, NPF, PR, GDP, interest rate, inflation, and scale enterprises. This study used 5 islamic banking in southeast Asia, namely : Bank mandiri syariah, Bank Muamalat (INA), bank Muamalat (MLY), CIMB bank Berhad, Affin Bank, in the period 2006-2013. Data on financial ratio derived from each of the Islamic bank website and also the Bank of Indonesia’s website. Hypotesis testing is conducted to determine the effect of dependent variables on the dependent variable either simultaneously and partially. Simultaneously test result showed that all Independent variables (FDR, NPF, PR, GDP, Interest rate, Inflation, scale enterprises) have a unsignificant effect on ROA. On testing partially, showed that only FDR, PR, GDP and scale enterprises have a significant effect on ROA Key Word : Islamic Banks, Profitability, ROA (Return On Aseet), FDR (Financing Deposit Ratio), NPF (Non Performing Financing), PR (Primary Ratio), GDP, interest rate, inflation, and scale enterprises.
