Abstract
This research aim to analyze The Effect of Business Risk And Economic Development On Return On Assets of Banks in Malaysia. Dependent variable in this research is profitability measured by ROA and Independent variables are financial ratios include LDR, NPL, IRR, Scale Enterprises, Economic Growth, and Inflation. The sample of this research consists of five banks in Malaysia, namely : CITIBANK, DEUTSCHE BANK, MAYBANK INTERNATIONAL, JP MORGAN CHASE BANK and ROYAL BANK of SCOTLAND, we use secondary data and collected from financial report of public commercial banks started from 2006 until 2013 The technique of data analyzing in this research is descriptive analyze and using multiple linear regression analyze. Hypotesis testing is conducted to determine the effect of dependent variables on the dependent variable either simultaneously and partially. Simultaneous test results all Independent variables (LDR, NPL, IRR, Scale Enterprises, Economic Growth, Inflation) have a unsignificant effect on ROA. On testing partially, showed that only IRR, Scale Enterprises, and Inflation have a significant effect on ROA Keywords : LDR, NPL, IRR, Scale Enterprises, Interest Rates, Economic Growth and Inflation
