Abstract
Competition in the business world increasingly tight and competitive. Indirectly demanded the company to improve the financial performance of the company. One of the strategies to improve the financial performance of the company is implementing a strategy of acquisition. This study aimed to test whether the acquisition affect the financial performance of public companies in Indonesia. Performance is measured by financial ratios. This research was conducted in a publicly traded company listed on the Indonesia stock exchange acquisition in the period 2002 to 2007. Comparative financial ratios is 3 years before and compared to 3 years, 4 years, 5 years and 6 years after the acquisition. Statistical tests used are parametric paired sample t-test. Financial ratio, the test results for comparison 1 year before and 3 years, 4 years, 5 years and 6 years after the acquisition of all imply that financial performance has not changed significantly. The results showed that there was no significant difference with respect to the company's financial ratios before and after the acquisition. Key words : Acquisition, Financial Performance
