Abstract
Profitability is a vital indicator for Rural Banks (BPR) to maintain business sustainability and strengthen capital structures. In the Cirebon Region, profitability performance projected through Return on Assets (ROA) has shown dynamic trends in recent years. This study aims to analyze the influence of CAR, NPL, LDR, and BOPO on ROA. Using a quantitative approach, this research utilizes secondary data from BPR publication reports during the 2020–2024 period, with a sample consisting of 14 BPRs in the Cirebon Region. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression. The results demonstrate that while CAR and LDR have a positive but non-significant effect on ROA, NPL and BOPO show a negative and significant effect. The implications suggest that to enhance profitability, bank management must prioritize controlling operational cost efficiency (BOPO) and reducing non-performing loan ratios (NPL), as both are primary determinants of profit performance in this model. Keywords: ROA, CAR, NPL, LDR, BOPO
