Abstract
A family company is a company that is managed by several members and has great control over every company decision so that there are various conflicts. This study is to examine the effect of Family Ownership on Company Performance with Agency Costs as Moderation. The sample consists of 17 companies, 48 company data, the sampling technique uses the pose xampling technique and uses data analysis, namely moderating regression analysis and data processing using SPSS 24. The results of this study indicate that ownership structure has a positive effect on financial performance, while management involvement has a negative effect on financial performance and agency costs as a moderator weakens the relationship between ownership structure and management involvement on company performance. Thus, this research can be concluded in a family company which is proven to be able to improve company performance, but the involvement of management and agency costs as moderation is a problem in itself. The implication of this research is that companies will be more efficient in investing and more careful in making decisions.
