Abstract
The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of liquidity, leverage, activity and company size on profitability in manufacturing companies listed on Bursa Efek Indonesia in 2014-2018. This research used quantitative approach. The data collection technique used in this research was documentation method, that is, by collecting data from the complete financial statements that have been published by the company through the official website of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) www.idx.co.id. This research used purposive sampling method in determining the sample with 102 company samples. The analysis technique has been done by using the multiple regression analysis aided by program SPSS 16 for Windows. The results of the study showed that simultaneously liquidity, leverage, activity and firm size have a significant effect on profitability in manufacturing companies listed on IDX. Partially, liquidity has a positive and significant effect on profitability, partially leverage has a negative and significant effect on profitability, partially activity has a positive and significant effect on profitability, and partially company size has a positive and significant effect on profitability.
