Abstract
This objective of this research is to investigate the impact of financial knowledge and materialism towards on college students financial management behavior in Surabaya with impulsive buying as a mediator variable. The population of the research was the college students in Surabaya. The samples were taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire. The data of the research were analyzed by multiple regression analysis. The result of the research shows that the financial literacy has an impact of 0,553 on the financial management behavior of the college students with a positive significance, and materialism has an impact of -0,154 on the financial management behavior of the college students with a negative significance. So it can be said that the financial literacy and materialism has an adequate affect on the financial behavior management. When the financial literacy increases, the financial behavior increases, and when the materialism increases, the financial behavior decreases. And, the examination result showed that materialism has an impact on financial management behavior with impulsive buying as mediator variabel.
