Abstract
This study was conducted to compare the social performance of Islamic banking in Indonesia based on the Islamic Social Reporting Index (Index ISR). The development of free market the past few years made the company to improve their social performance. But it is not accompanied by the enactment of mandatory standards for Islamic banks by the government. Source of data in this study are secondary data from the annual report published on the official website of each Islamic banks. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the business practices of Islamic banking in Indonesia, particularly with regard to social responsibility that they run, and contribute to increase knowledge both as a comparison or replication to conduct further studies on the ISR index as social performance measurement model of Islamic banking. The results of this study indicate that the Bank Syariah Mandiri is the only Islamic banks that receive good ratings in the period of 2013. The results showed that the highest score of the social performance of Bank Syariah Mandiri with a score of 78.60%, and followed by BNI Syariah 74.08%, 60.34% BRI Syariah, Bukopin Syariah 55.96%, and Bank Mega Syariah 52,99%.
