Abstract

Savings behavior has a positive impact on life. Millennials have characteristics that tend to act consumptively. So that saving behavior will make an alternative to meet the needs of the future or today. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of peers, materialism, and impulsive buying on millennial generation saving behavior in East Java. The sample in this study consisted of 313 millennial generation respondents in East Java. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The statistical test tool used is WarpPLS. The results showed that peers did not have a significant negative effect on saving behavior, materialism had a significant negative effect on saving behavior, and impulsive buying mediated the influence of materialism on saving behavior.
