Abstract
The performance of company can not be separated from the influence of the environment in which the company was founded. Financial performance is influenced by various factors like internal and external factors. External factors that influence firm performance are political connections. Companies that have political connections are considered to have better performance compared to companies that are not politically connected. The internal factors that influence the performance of the company are public ownership, size of the company and leverage that the company have. This study used political connections, public ownership, company size and financial leverage as independent variables and ROA as an indicator of the company's financial performance as the dependent variable. This study used secondary data with analytical method used multiple linear regression analysis. The results shows that political connections didn’t have effect on firm performance, public ownership has a significant negative effect, firm size has a positive efffect and financial leverage has negative effect on firm performance.The implications of the results of this study can be used by managers to improve company performance Keywords: Financial Performance, Political Connections, Public Ownership, Company Size and Financial Leverage
