Abstract
Underpricing is the pricing of stocks in the primary market is lower thar the stock price in the secondary market. This empirical research was needed to find out the effect of the underwriter’s reputation, financial leverage, profitability and type of industry towards the stocks’ underpricing on the first offer of stocks in Indonesia Stock Exchange in the year of 2012-2016. This research using the data from all companies does initial public offering in the year 2012-2016. Sample in the research was selected by using purposive sampling method and the statistical method used in this research is multiple regression analysis. The population sample research were 106 companies conducting initial public offering (IPO). Based on the result of the data analysis, results indicated variable underwriter’s reputation and profitability influence to underpricing while variable financial leverage and type of industry do not influence to underpricing on the first offer of stocks in Indonesia. Keywords : Underwriter’s reputation, financial leverage, initial public offering, and underpricing.
