Abstract
This research examines market reaction around the date of Corporate Governance Perception Index (CGPI) announcement. This research also examines market reaction differences between big ten companies and non big ten companies. The sample of this research is 36 big ten companies and 37 non big ten companies during the period of 2012 - 2015, listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange and do not exercise any corporate action during event windows . Sampling techniques using purposive sampling method. Hypothesi s testing is done with one sample t - test and independent sample t - test. The result showed that there is no significant abnormal return around the date of CGPI announcement but significant abnormal trading volume around the date of CGPI announcement. Abnorm al return around the date of CGPI announcement between big ten companies and non big ten companies is not significantly different. Abnormal trading volume around the date of CGPI announcement between big ten companies and non big ten companies is significa ntly different.
