Abstract

Working capital is defined as capital that is used by companies to finance their daily operations. Working capital can also be interpreted as the whole of the current assets owned by a company. In other words, working capital is invested in the form of current assets or short-term assets, such as; cash, marketable securities, accounts receivable, inventory, and other current assets. The purpose of this study was to test the significance of the effect of working capital turnover, turnover of cash, receivables turnover and inventory turnover partially positive effect on the profitability of the company Food and Beverages. The population used in this study are Food and Beverages companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2007-2012. Sample retrieval technique used in this study is purposive sampling as many as 15 companies. In this study using Pooled Least Squares method. This study uses secondary data obtained from ICMD, the data is then processed using the program Eviews program is used to obtain the results of the t test. The results showed that the turnover of working capital partially significant positive effect on profitability, cash flows partially significant negative effect on profitability, whereas receivables turnover and inventory turnover significant negative effect on profitability.
