Abstract
Selection of students for the accounting profession is the initial stage of the career formation, has successfully organized a lecture. There are five employment sectors that can be entered by accounting graduates public accountants, management accountants, accountants, educators, government accountants and accounting services office. So many are faced with the choice of the accounting profession for graduate students be a difficult decision in choosing. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of the factors behind the salary, professional training factors, professional recognition factor, factor of social values, work environment factors and consideration of the labor market could be an option for students in the accounting profession Perbanas Surabaya. The study was conducted by questionnaire directly to the study object of accounting students who are taking courses in Accounting Seminar, and Research Methodology with a sample of 117 respondents. The data analysis technique used is the technique of quantitative analysis with descriptive analysis and test methods Crosstab. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between age and choice of profession to the subject, but there is no relationship between the gender of choice of profession. Then on the results of a study of the factors accounting profession is the selection of respondents were concerned with factors outside Salary particularly in respect of salaries, Professional Training factor especially in training before starting work, Professional Recognition factor especially at the opportunity to evolve, Social Values factor especially on the occasion of to interact with others, in particular the Working Environment factors on job stress and Labour Market Considerations factor especially on a long career.
