Abstract
Employee experience has become an increasingly important issue in healthcare organizations because it may shape how employees evaluate their jobs and develop attachment to the organization. This study examines the effect of employee experience on employee engagement through job satisfaction and explores whether these relationships differ by employment status at RS Islam Surabaya Jemursari. A quantitative explanatory design was employed using survey data collected from 416 employees, consisting of 224 permanent employees, 84 contract employees, and 108 outsourcing employees, all of whom had worked for at least one year. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and Multi-Group Analysis (MGA). The findings show that employee experience has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on employee engagement. In addition, job satisfaction mediates the relationship between employee experience and employee engagement. The direct effect of employee experience on employee engagement was significant among permanent and outsourcing employees, but not among contract employees. However, the MGA results indicate that, overall, the structural relationships do not differ significantly across employment status groups. Keywords: employee experience, job satisfaction, employee engagement, employment status, hospital
