Abstract

Financial Well-Being (FWB) reflects an individual’s ability to manage finances effectively, feel secure about present and future conditions, and meet needs without significant financial pressure. This study aims to analyze the effects of financial knowledge, financial experience, current financial stress, and internal locus of control on FWB among healthcare workers in Surabaya’s community health centers, with financial behavior as a mediating variable. A quantitative cross-sectional design was applied involving 277 healthcare workers from 63 centers. Data were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that financial knowledge and financial experience do not significantly affect FWB, while financial stress has a negative impact and internal locus of control shows a positive significant effect. Financial behavior partially mediates the relationship between financial experience, financial stress, and internal locus of control with FWB.
