Abstract
Cryptocurrency, as a relatively new investment instrument, has attracted the attention of various groups, including Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the impact of income, financial literacy, risk tolerance, and investment experience on cryptocurrency investment decisions among Generation Z in Surabaya. The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling. The research method employed is quantitative with a survey approach, using a questionnaire distributed to 170 Generation Z respondents who are actively investing in cryptocurrency. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results show that financial literacy and risk tolerance have a positive and significant effect on cryptocurrency investment decisions. Meanwhile, income and investment experience do not have a significant impact on investment decisions. These findings suggest that, despite Generation Z having varying income levels and investment experience across different instruments, these factors do not significantly influence their decisions to invest in cryptocurrency. On the other hand, a good understanding of financial literacy and a high level of risk tolerance are key factors in cryptocurrency investment decision-making. This study provides practical implications for Generation Z investors to improve their financial literacy and understand their risk tolerance levels before making cryptocurrency investments. Additionally, this research suggests that future studies should explore other factors, such as psychological and emotional factors, that may influence cryptocurrency investment decisions. Keywords: Income, Financial Literacy, Risk Tolerance, Investment Experience, Cryptocurrency Investment Decisions
