Abstract

Overconfidence, heuristic, risk perception are key factors in the decision making of entrepreneurs. This study was to examine the effect of overconfidence and heuristic on decision making through the perception of risk as intervening variable. Three independent variables are analyzed, overconfidence, heuristic and risk perception. The dependent variable is decision making. The objective of research is (1) to analyze the effect of overconfidence on decision making of entrepreneurs investment, (2) to analyze the effect of heuristic on decion making of entrepreneurs investment, (3) to analyze the effect of risk perception on decion making of entrepreneur investment, (4) to analyze the effect of overconfidence toward risk perception, and (5) to analyze the effect of heuristic toward risk perception. This research is conducted on the entrepreneurs from Sidoarjo. Interval data are used. Primary data collection is conducted through questionnaire distributed to 110 respondents. The population in this study, entrepreneurs with the vulnerable age at least 20 until more than 50 years, and has been entrepreneurs for at least three years. By using software GSCA analysis, the results shows the overconfidence and heuristic have no effect to the entrepreneurial decision-making through the perception of risk. The main possible causes less respondent data. Key Words : Overconfidence, Heuristic, Risk Perception, Decision making
