Abstract
Accounting information systems are very important to be implemented in the banking world which is used to regulate all banking accounting processes such as recording, analysis, data classification, and interpretation of financial data used to fulfill the wishes of internal and external parties. This study aims to determine the effect of educational background, work experience, and top management’s support to the accounting information systems performance in commercial banks in the Sidoarjo Region. The population in this study are commercial banks in the Sidoarjo Region with a total of 53 commercial banks. The sampling technique is using a purposive sampling technique. This study has sample criteria, namely bank employees in the finance, marketing, information and technology (IT) and back office departments so the sample is 75 bank employees with these criteria. This study uses primary data with data collection techniques using the questionnaire method. The results of this study indicate that educational background and work experience have no significant effect to the accounting information systems performance, while top management support has a significant effect to the accounting information systems performance.
