Abstract
This study aims to describe psychological capital mapping for job seekers as prospective new employees in the company. The existence of psychological capital mapping which includes self-efficacy, optimism, hope, and resilience can provide benefits to the company as a basis for designing psychological capital development by means of orientation programs for new employee. Respondents in this study namely beginner job seekers were determined by convenience sampling technique, totally 382 people. The research method used is survey with using questionnaires for data collecting. Descriptive statistical techniques used as data analytical tools in accordance with the research objectives. The results reveal that job seekers’s psychological capital is in the high category and hypothesis in this study proved that job seekers have higher psychological capital in the dimensions of hope and optimism compared to the dimensions of resilience and self-efficacy. The implications of the development of psychological capital design in the orientation program of new employees in the company are part of the discussion of the results of this study. New employee orientation program can be focused on forming positive work attitudes through optimizing the potential of Hope, Optimism, Self-efficacy and Resilience. Positive work attitudes related to psychological capital are work engagement and organizational commitment. New employee orientation can be designed based on groups or individually.
