Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of good corporate governance (GCG) on the profitability of companies in the infrastructure, utility and transportation sectors in Indonesia. The company's profitability indicators are measured using Return on Equity (ROE). The data analysis method used is the Multiple Linear Regression test with the help of the SPSS version 20 program. The sample selection technique used is purposive sampling method. A sample of 10 companies was obtained from 42 population companies in the infrastructure, utility and transportation sectors in Indonesia and 50 sample observations data were obtained for the 2016-2020 period. The results of data analysis conclude that the proportion of independent commissioners partially positive and not significant effect on company profitability, audit committee has negative and insignificant effect on company profitability, managerial ownership has negative and significant effect on company profitability and institutional ownership has negative and insignificant effect on company profitability. Meanwhile, simultaneously (together) concluded that the proportion of independent commissioners, audit committees, managerial ownership and institutional ownership has a positive and significant effect on company profitability.
